 <![CDATA[On Saturday, May 5th around 0930 hrs, Ambulance 191 was enroute to Union Hospital with a patient when it became involved in a minor MVC. Thanks to the training, knowledge and experience of the driver, evasive actions were taken to minimize damage and injuries. CVFC would like to thank everyone who responded to the scene to assist and a Special Thank You to Hacks Point and Galena Fire Companies for all the assistance that they will be providing until the ambulance can be placed back into service. 
This incident just proves why training is so important in obtaining the knowledge needed to act when faced with the unknown....]]>

 	<title>MVC w/ 1 Trapped</title>

 <![CDATA[Just after 2000 hrs CVFC, along with CC Paramedic 3, was alerted for an MVC with rollover and 1 trapped just outside of Town Limits.&nbsp; Assistant 1-2 Brandon Dixon was the first to arrive and advised of one vehicle off the roadway with heavy entrapment.&nbsp; It was several mintues into the incident before the second vehicle was located about 100 yards further east.&nbsp; Command requested Aviation and a second Rescue to the scene.&nbsp; Rescue 1 arrived first and begin to secure the vehicle while EMS personal from Ambulance 192 entered the vehicle and began patient care.&nbsp; The new 32B spreader&nbsp;was placed into service and the driver's door was removed while the "O" cutter was put to work on the pillars.&nbsp; Engine 116 arrived next followd by&nbsp;NCC Rescue 27, who had just cleared their own MVC w/ entrapment on Rt 301.&nbsp; The crews&nbsp;were assigned to the passenger side to finish the pillars to remove the roof.&nbsp; After making a relief cut and slight roll of the dash on the driver's side, enough clearance was made to free the patient's feet from the pedals.&nbsp; All work was halted and the patient was removed from the drivers door and transported to the carnival grounds where Engine 114 had setup the LZ for MSP Aviation.&nbsp; Ambulance 991 handled one transport from the second vehicle to Christiana Hospital.&nbsp; More photos in the gallery....]]>

 <![CDATA[CVFC, Tanker 9 and an Engine and Ladder from Sta. 27 Middletown were alerted for a house fire off Bohemia Church Road.&nbsp; Assistant 1-2, Brandon Dixon, went on location and found a chimney fire with possible extension into the wall.Rescue 1 arrived first and was brought to the top of the driveway with the crew sent to the basement.&nbsp; Tanker 1 and 9 arrived next and staged on the hardtop to allow Tower 27 to gain access.&nbsp; Tower 27 put the bucket to the roof and threw a 35' ladder on the C side to the chimney.&nbsp; Crews from Brush 1 and Tanker 9 assisted the crew in the basement pull part of the ceiling and walls to locate the fire.&nbsp; Crews used a water can to extinguish the embers.&nbsp;Once the box was placed under control Tanker 1&amp;amp;9 cleared the scene and made the response to a working Barn Fire in Chesapeake City's district.&nbsp; Rescue 1 and Tower 27 remained on scene to clean up.&nbsp; All units were cleared the scene prior to 0600.Photo taken by Chief 27 Frank Bailey....]]>
