The Cecilton Vol. Fire Co. is a 100% volunteer department located in southern Cecil County, MD. Our district is largely a rural area situated at the top of the Chesapeake Bay.  Bordered by the Sassafras River, Chesapeake Bay and State of Delaware we provide fire and EMS service out of one station.  Our current apparatus consists of 2 Engines, a Rescue Pumper, Tanker, Brush Truck, 2 Boats, Utility, Chief's Truck and 2 Ambulances. The members of CVFC take great pride in the station and apparatus and will continue to serve the great citizens for many years to come.
 

U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development (RD) Grant

Wednesday, October 12, 2011  CVFC is proud to annouce that we were recently notified that we received a U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development (RD) grant for $48,500.  The grant was annouced through U.S. Senators Barbara A. Mikulski and Ben Cardin on Oct 6th.  The money will be used to upgrade and replace Hurst Equipment, new sets of gear and a new Lif-pak for the ambulance.  The news story can be found at the following link:

Auto Fire w/Exposure

Friday, October 7, 2011 0508 CVFC, along with Tanker 9 and KC Engine 3, were alerted for an automoblie fire with exposure to a residence.  Lt David Sakers III was the first to arrive and advised of a fully involved vehicle with an exposure problem.  Sakers was able to keep the fire in check with a garden hose until Rescue 1 arrived.  On arrival the 100' trash line was pulled from the front bumper of Rescue 1 and the vehicle was extinguished and both surrounding residences were cooled down.  KC Engine 3 filled Rescue 1 and then cleared the scene.
