Cecilton VFD

The Cecilton Vol. Fire Co. is a 100% volunteer department located in southern Cecil County, MD. Our district is largely a rural area situated at the top of the Chesapeake Bay. Bordered by the Sassafras River, Chesapeake Bay and State of Delaware we provide fire and EMS service out of one station. Our current apparatus consists of a Truck, Rescue Pumper, Tanker, Brush Truck, Boat, Utility, Command Truck and 2 Ambulances. The members of CVFC take great pride in the station and apparatus and will continue to serve the great citizens for many years to come.

MVC vs Tree

Tuesday, September 2, 2014  Just before 2100 hours CVFC was alerted for an MVC off Pond Neck Road.  Units arrived to find a vehicle on its side into a tree.  The operator had self-extricated themself and was located inside another vehicle on scene.  Engine 1 secured the vehicle and assisted Ambo 191 with patient care.  Rescue 9 was also on scene to assist.



MVC w/Fire

Saturday, August 30, 2014  In the early hours CVFC was alerted for a single vehicle MVC in the Warwick Area.  While enroute units were advised that the vehicle was fully involved with unknown occupants.  Engine 1 arrived and confirmed the report and began extinguishing the fire.  The operator of the vehicle was found in a residence a short distance away and Ambo 191 provided care.



MVC w/entrapment

Tuesday, July 15, 2014 1619 Engine 1 was just clearing from an outside fire call when they went enroute to an MVC on Rt 301 s/o the State Line. Chief 1, Robert Plato Jr, was the first to arrive with a single vehicle off the roadway, overturned and one trapped. Engine 1 was the first to arrive and began to stabilize the vehicle. Once completed and the patient was secured the crew from Engine 1 and NCC R-27 began cutting the posts on the passenger side in order to fold down the roof to make access. The patient was removed and moved to Ambo-191 to be transported to Christiana Hospital. All units were cleared the scene by 1700hrs.



Carnival Time

Saturday, July 12, 2014  It's that time of year again. The carnival will be August 4th thru 9th. The kiddie night pre-sales start tonight. Get your tickets at the firehouse Friday nights from 6 to 8 or Sundays 12 to 2 for $13each

Busy Holiday

Sunday, July 6, 2014  The members have been extremely busy over the holiday weekend. Running 14 Fire/Rescue calls and 15 Medical calls. We have some very dedicated members that are willing to miss out on some of the holiday festivities in order to help the community. Chief Plato would like to thank each and every one of you and continue to stay safe.



Rescue runs to MVC w/entrapment

Tuesday, July 1, 2014  0945 hours...Engine 1 was alerted to respond to Rt 213 n/o the Bohemia River Bridge (1204 Box) to assist on an MVC w/entrapment. Deputy Chief 2 had arrived to find 3 vehicles involved with one trapped in a vehicle off the road in a wooded area. Engine 1's crew was assigned to the vehicle in the woods and began cutting away trees and freeing the driver from the vehicle. Engine 1 remained on scene until 1140 hours to assist MSP with reconstruction.



Combine Fire

Sunday, June 29, 2014  1403 hours...CVFC was alerted for a vehicle/field fire in the 104 box. Brush 1 arrived to find a combine fully involved and approximately 1 acre of field burning. Brush 1 quickly knocked down the field fire and then turned its attention to the combine. Units from Galena VFC and Hacks Point VFC also responded to assist.



Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, April 19, 2014  The "Easter Egg Hunt" will be April 19th @ 1pm this year. The event will be held at the CVFC Carnival Grounds located on Rt 282 just east of Town. The Easter Bunny will be given a ride in on "Truck 1." So bring your baskets and get ready for a good time. A special area will be marked off for children 3 and under to participate in their own hunt.



MVC w/Rollover

Saturday, February 8, 2014  Just after 0100 hours CVFC, along with Ambulance 9 and CC Paramedic 3, was alerted to a single vehicle MVC in the parking lot of the Archway Inn.  On arrival Engine 1 found a single vehicle overturned.  Crews found the operator of the vehicle was gone upon arrival and began to secure the vehicle.  Units remained on scene until the arrival of law enforcement.
