Barn Fire

Tuesday, December 20, 2011 At 1530 the tones were struck for a barn fire at the Bob Biss Farm.  The assignment brought Sta 1, Tanker 9, KC Engine and Tanker 3 and NCC Ladder 27.  Assistant 1, John Paolantonio, was the first to arrive and found a 10' by 20' chicken coup fully involved.  The location was changed to a farm directly across the street from the Bob Biss Farm.  With a report of no exposure problems the box was held to Sta. 1 units.  Rescue 1 arrived first and pulled the 1 3/4" trash line and began extinguishment.  Tanker 1 arrived shortly there after and supplied Rescue 1.  The crew, with the assistance of the property owners skid steer, separated all the metal to be able to extinguish the entire fire.  Engine 114 arrived and assisted with the clean-up.  The box was brought under control in approximately 8 minutes and all units cleared at 1614 hours.  More photos can be seen in the gallery.
